Yes, I am absolutely convinced that Julien Bréchet produces the BEST Gigondas today. In any case, I could accept the comparison with Santa Duc's greats.

Julien has learned a great deal in the past two or three years. His wines have become more elegant across the board, their chiseling is finer and yet more distinct, and they have also gained a great deal of energy. Bréchet has significantly reduced the use of new wood, to such an extent that it is hardly noticeable anymore. All in all, these facts make all the difference!
