I have rarely met anyone like him. No, on reflection, I can't think of anyone who has dedicated their life to winegrowing as single-mindedly and consistently as Isacco Costamagna – yes, you should remember that name, because he could soon be a legendary winemaker. While Isacco was still at school, at the age of 19, he replanted the vineyard he had inherited from his grandfather. Naturally, he used the massale selection method. He sold his first grapes to his neighbor Trediberri, where he worked just like he did for Lorenzo, Lorenzo Accomasso (ring a bell?), after graduating with honors in agronomy and oenology in Turin. As you can see, the foundations are there, and combined with an unparalleled passion, wines will grow here that are rarely found in Piedmont or anywhere else in the world.
