Anyone interested in wines from the Ribera del Duero cannot avoid José Carlos Álvarez, who achieves great things and creates great wines. It was José who established the excellent reputation of Bodega Emilio Moro, where he worked as an oenologist for many years. He now runs Convento de las Claras, with its 30 to 90-year-old vineyards, on his own and makes fabulous and fiery Ribera wines from the Tempranillo grape, to which he has dedicated himself wholeheartedly.
