Cabernet Sauvignon Tench Vineyard

Tench Vineyard is located on the Silverado Trail, the west side of the valley on volcanic red soil. At the edge of the vineyard, Russell built a small, no-frills cellar that is subordinate to its function. The Tench family grants Russell hospitality and receives balanced oenological support. Few pure Cabernet Sauvignons that offer more than sheer power grow in the valley; not even a handful outside of this corner. So you've come to the right place if you love big Cabs. Especially one like this, which has a beguiling aroma of ripe mulberries, blackcurrants and Ingo Holland's Telly Cherry pepper, which we like so much. The wine's presence on the palate is extremely impressive and soon wonderfully fine-grained tannin is released from the wine, gently settling on the tongue, where it is outweighed only seconds later by fabulously beautiful extract sweetness, before the saliva begins to flow and the wine takes your breath away!
