Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuées

2023

Traubensorten Pinot Noir
Trinktemperatur 12° - 14°

To the east, Les Fuées borders Bonnes Mares, which can't be a bad thing. Mugnier's parcel was planted in 1960 and unfortunately yields only a few, but wonderful small, dark-colored grapes with a firm, thick skin that hang loosely on the panicles - air between the berries is rarely seen in Pinot Noir and yet it would be extremely important to have it in wet years, as it promotes the drying of the grapes enormously after a rain shower. Mugnier's Les Fuées can therefore produce clean, great wines even in complicated vintages. Aromatically, this Chambolle is rather darker than the Village or this one from Les Amoureuses, which certainly has to do with the small, dark, thick-skinned variety of Pinot Noir that grows here. Nevertheless, orange aromas can be detected again and again, but interestingly, beef aromas - I mean something like a grilled steak - keep coming to my nose and make me frown at first, before everything comes together to form an unexpected, yet hellishly tempting aroma. Elegant, natural, but also with a bit of “oomph”, the wine flows through the palate, showing its phenomenal structure before letting the fruit flavors dance. What a wonderful wine. If only there were more of them.
