EE Red Wine Napa Valley

It was 2011 when, at the behest of my buddy Bob, I curved over to Santa Rosa to a guy named Russell Bevan, whose name I only knew from "The Wine Advocate" magazine. I can't describe what Russell had in his barrels! It took a while before Russell entrusted us with a few bottles of his wines, which had become even more refined in the meantime. In August 2016, we were able to enjoy the bottle of 2009 EE that Russell had given me with friends. GREAT! Even today, the EE, perhaps together with Ontogeny and Sugarloaf, is my favorite. It combines lush berry fruit with an incredibly beautiful tobacco aroma to create a dreamlike fragrance. A spectacle begins on the palate with a great deal of pressure, the likes of which are rarely seen in such refinement and indescribable complexity. Everything soon gives way to a great structure that carries the wine for a long time and finishes incredibly juicy! EE in the glass and the evening is saved!
