Just the way it smells, that blackcurrant aroma is just incredible! I love it! But don't worry, the wine has much more to offer than just redcurrants on the nose. There's also a killer load of liquorice, pepper, the long one that you grate or crush in a mortar, which then throws these fruity, fresh pepper notes at you. The latter give the bouquet depth and make it fresh and somehow mysterious and attractive. Once the wine reaches the palate, it is all over you. At first you succumb to its sheer density, which is then immediately swept away by the structure, which does the same and has to make room for this bright, indescribable fruit, which also carries purity and clarity with it. A breathtaking Syrah!
