But let's start at the beginning: when it comes to producing a fruity, cheerful, and refreshing wine, Gamay is unmatched in the right hands. In the right hands, precisely because wine never makes itself; contrary to the countless claims of other wine merchants and winemakers, humans are an extremely important factor in the process of wine production. But I realize I'm digressing, because I actually just wanted to briefly note that Guillaume Marko (the man behind the vineyard and wine) and Philippe Pascal (winemaker) are two extremely capable and willing people at work.

Oh yes, this wonderful Julénas is cheerful, refreshing, and divinely fruity, with red berries dominating the bouquet. Don't worry, it's not just fruit that makes this wine; there are also spicy components that play an important role in the aroma wheel, along with what I find to be an exceptionally adorable black tea note.

Yes, and the wine also delivers on the palate. And how it does! It effortlessly fills the palate, moves playfully through it, is chiseled and shows a fine structure, combined with a wonderful freshness that gives it a marvelous elegance. The finish is so juicy that you can't stop smacking your lips and have to take another testing sip right away.

This is a beguilingly seductive wine that you should try if you're in the mood for something different.
