Pinot Noir or Burgundy has struck again! Les Margiles is a dream! And by that I mean fantastically good. OK, for many people, owning a bottle of this wine will remain a dream. Jacques Tatasciore's production is still far too small to even begin to satisfy the overwhelming demand. But Jacques was able to purchase and plant two magnificent terroirs. So improvement is in sight! Margiles often smells of black, ripe cherries. But it also has mineral components, such as graphite. Sometimes there are also tobacco notes, perhaps even a hint of tar. Light Cuban tobacco mingles with floral scents, enhancing the bouquet's base aroma. On the palate, the wine takes my breath away. Wow! One moment the wine is powerful and assertive, the next it is incomparably elegant and silky. Its finish is incredibly long, razor-sharp and wonderfully mineral, juicy and magnificently clear.
