Merlot Buri

At last we were able to get hold of a few bottles of this ultra-rare Merlo. Enzo Pontoni must be extremely satisfied with its quality, but not with its availability. And given Enzo's quality standards, this is anything but commonplace. So you can look forward to great wines from a small cellar, grown on the gentle hills of the Colli Orientali. This is the spicy version of Enzo's two Merlots. Grilled, or simply warm herbs, mixed with a dash of warm tar aroma, licorice and dark berries and yes, that's the freshly sharpened pencil again. A huge spectrum you will say but that's exactly what it is and that's what makes the wine so unique. The sensation on the palate is overwhelming, the structure perfectly integrated and of the very best quality. A tremendous wine, a masterpiece!
