Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos de la Maréchale ROUGE

2023

Traubensorten Pinot Noir
Trinktemperatur 12° - 14°

Clos de la Maréchale is the largest monopoly vineyard in the Côte d'Or and has been the sole property of the Mugnier family since 1902. However, this vineyard was leased until October 30, 2003. Frédéric put a lot of work into revitalizing the vines. For me personally, this wine is one of the best in the appellation, even if it is not always the highest rated wine. Mugnier's wines do not always, but often take a little longer to get going, especially the Clos de la Maréchale - incidentally, research has shown that this land never belonged to a field marshal and the name probably stems more from the fact that character wines grow here. So now to the wine, which smells heavenly of black berries, ripe cherries and a delicate bouquet garni. It seems as if a fine Mediterranean vein is combined here with earthy aromas like those of a “Boudin Basque” to create a pretty unexpected “twist”. Focused, structured, elegant and incredibly exciting because it is multi-layered, equipped with the finest, silky tannins, this wonderful Burgundy moves very gently through the palate, gathering itself in an uplifting and stimulating finish. This is RICHLY good!
