DuMol Estate Vineyard consists of eight blocks on an area of less than four hectares. Of these eight blocks, the three plots that consistently produce the best fruit have been selected. Two are east-facing and stand on sandy soil - the aromas of the wines from the fruit obtained here are pure, wonderfully clear and deliver great acidity, or in other words: energy. The third parcel faces west, where the soil contains a lot of clay. Here the wines are rather strong and the tannin is more prominent. Floral and even hibiscus aromas waft from the glass towards the olfactory bulb and cheer it up. Wait, there was something else ... yes, liquorice, and even if it's hard to believe, I think I can also smell red cherries, I almost want to say "Piedmont cherry". I have to say, this fragrance is hellishly neat. It's surprising how good the wine tastes even in its youth. It really gets going! Power is there, certainly, but it is not the focus, rather elegance is the core of the wine. Because it flows almost without resistance and shows wonderful tannins of silky quality in the middle, which are suddenly pulverized by a freshness, a ripe acidity and a juicy, great extract-sweet, almost never-ending, powerful mineral, even chalky finish begins. Chapeau ... this is great cinema!
