Pinot Noir Porcupine Hill Vineyard

2021

Traubensorten Pinor Noir
Trinktemperatur 10° - 12°

Here on Porcupine Hill, Rhys has planted the vines very close together, almost like our friends Hubert Lamy and Jean-Marc Vincent in Burgundy. The result is magnificent, because this Pinot has a wonderful aroma of dried herbs, peonies, ripe red berries and black cherries, spices, and exotic flavors such as star anise and pepper. Somehow this wine seems dark, I can't describe it any better, but you'll understand what I mean when you have it in your glass. The wine makes a powerful impression on the palate and doesn't hesitate for a second to show off its structure, hitting the palate with firm tannins.

But don't worry, this wine comes from California, where even in cool corners like Anderson Valley, the sun shines long enough to ensure that there is plenty of extract in the mix, which immediately keeps the tannins in check and heralds a wonderful finish that is long and wonderfully juicy. A powerful wine that, like all Rhys Pinots, should be given some time.
