You know, I'm a huge fan of Henin-Delouvin's “Harmonie,” a champagne that once surprised me, caught me off guard, so to speak, when we first tasted it, which is probably the case for most connoisseurs. Isn't it great to be surprised in such a wonderful way? And it didn't stop at just this one surprise, because as it turned out at the end of the tasting, the Henins also know how to make rosé. And how they do it! Even if the name of the wine can cause some confusion, because it is not actually a Saingée – in a Saingée, some juice is extracted from the red wine during fermentation to make it denser – it is still a super delicious rosé champagne that gives us a lot of pleasure. Its aroma of red berries, cherries, and especially raspberries is magnificent, eventually giving way to a delicate rose petal note. The wine's mousse is wonderful, tickling the palate and filling it nicely until the moment when the wine side of the champagne takes the lead and reveals an impressive energy. The finish of Henin-Delouvin's “Rosé de Saignée” is nothing less than breathtakingly juicy, fresh, and simply perfect. If you like rosé champagne, the kind that can hold its own and be served with food, you will love this wine!
