To say that the unexpected often happens is a bit of an exaggeration, but there is a grain of truth in it, at least in this story. Because I actually went to Aÿ to meet Julien Henin and taste his wine. However, since Julien presses his wine on his parents' premises – they only produce a little over 1,000 bottles – and I, the old man, am much more accommodating than my reputation suggests and don't want to offend anyone, I also showed interest in the Henin-Delouvin family's wines. And I must say, even the first wine from the Henin family left me quite amazed! Wow, this is a wine with punch in every sense of the word: power and energy, there's something going on in the glass. Juicy and wonderfully mineral, chiseled and nuanced; a wine that deserves our attention, and yours too.
