Chablis Montmains 1er Cru

2023

Traubensorten Chardonnay
Trinktemperatur 12° - 14°

Montmains faces south-east on marl and is one of the finest terroirs in the Chablis appellation. Bessin's vines are a good 35 years old and produce fruit that is nothing less than brilliant. The two brothers Antoine and Romain Bessin place the terroir at the center of their wines. The two love this peculiarity, unique to Chablis, of growing a dense wine that is also fine and elegant. Naturally for the Bessins, but rather unusually for the appellation, the grapes are harvested by hand and vinified in an aroma-neutral way in order to let the terroir speak for itself, as mentioned above.

Montmains smells wonderfully of a wonderful mix of lemon blossom, crisp green apples and a hint of crème patissier. Delicious! Elegant, yet with noticeable extract, a great freshness and a fascinatingly clear finish, this Chablis gets to the heart of the matter. This is really good stuff!
