Clos du Meix, En Remilly, Chassagne and then finally the En Caillert. What fireworks! It wasn't just Nina and Sue who pursed their lips; these phenomenal wines brought a blissful smile to everyone's faces. Except for me, I was the chauffeur and ... well, I know what you're saying, I was a bit of a host and he usually keeps a low profile ... you're right! The en Chaillert smells so good, it's hard to believe that a wine can smell so attractive. Not in my wildest dreams could I have imagined that a wine could smell so mineral, that the terroir of these highly calcareous soils could smell so powerfully good. Everything alternates with quince aromas and the flair of exotic fruits. Fabulous! Full of energy, the wine takes over the palate and is enormously long, ending precisely, naturally juicy and incredibly, how could it be otherwise, mineral. A blockbuster Chardonnay!
