If all entry-level wines were even close to the quality of Olivier's «little» Saint-Aubin ... oh, we wouldn't even know what to taste in the evening. In this respect, I'm glad that it's only the talented perfectionist who can produce a wine like La Princée. This wine is grown in around ten different vineyards, some cooler and some warmer, a wonderful mix that produces a really great, balanced wine with more complex, wider-ranging aromas than Lamy's other Saint-Aubins, which all express a specific terroir. A heavenly scent of white flowers is combined with Granny Smith aromas, delicate peppermint notes and luscious lime zest, just so we're clear. Some gunpowder hints at the wine's enormous minerality. Upright in its gait, with taut muscles and enormous energy and a magical, subtle exoticism, La Princée casts its spell. A true Lamy!
