It's great that you are one of those people for whom the Côte de Beaune does not end in Chassagne-Montrachet. AND I can promise you that you will be handsomely rewarded for your “intrepidity”, provided that you not only store the Vincents' wines in your cellar, but also enjoy them, because these are Jean-Marc's and A-Marie's (that's how Anne-Marie calls herself) wines, an INCREDIBLE pleasure! Jean-Marc has taken a leaf out of his buddy Olivier Lamy's book (Domaine Hubert Lamy in Saint-Aubin). What has he copied? Well, the high plant density – yes of course, you're right, there are so many things to learn from Lamy. There are 14,000 vines rooted here in an area of one hectare – 10,000 plants are normal in Burgundy, which is already quite dense. But enough chatter, now it's about the wine and, yes, it's a poem! It smells of citrus peel, white flowers, pears and a hint of white almonds. The feeling on the palate is also world class, with a firm and muscular body, followed by the energy that the wine suddenly releases. Magnificent! Its finish is silky and delicately salty. This is a great Chardonnay!
