Langhe Rosato

2025

Traubensorten Nebbiolo
Trinktemperatur 11° - 14°

Nebbiolo as a rosé – we’ve often wondered whether that could actually make sense. To be honest, it never did for us. Until, yes, exactly, you’ve guessed it, until we met Isacco Costamagna.

Isacco destemmed and pressed his Nebbiolo grapes straight away. And no, he didn’t use inferior fruit for this wine; something like that would never cross Isacco’s mind.

And so it is that the wine smells absolutely heavenly of red berries, just like a young Nebbiolo, perhaps just a touch more delicate and with a hint of floral notes mixed in. The wine flows onto the palate with real vigour and makes it immediately clear: this is not one of those bland little wines that people so often try to foist upon us in this category. This wine here, even if it is ‘merely’ a rosé, has personality. No, not in an exaggerated way, but yes, there is definitely character at play. Isacco’s rosé is therefore by no means a killjoy. Quite the opposite. Wonderfully fruity and fresh, almost effervescent, with plenty of energy and drive, it flows down the throat with almost no resistance and is as refreshing as it is enjoyable.

A rosé for anyone who expects a little more than mere entertainment.
