Meursault Les Tillet

Tillets, I have already had the pleasure of enjoying some excellent wines from this vineyard. The wines of great winemakers from this lieu-dit – Tillets or Les Tillets – for example, those from Bernard-Bonin or Jean-Marc Roulot, and more recently, those from Pierre Vincent, the former creator of the famous Leflaive wines after their Premox phase, have delighted me. You could say that the bar was set high when Valentin poured us his Tillets. Ah, the way this wine smells! Magnificent! I was – still am, or even more so now that I'm writing this text and looking at everything from a distance – blown away, thrilled by this fabulously neat, multi-layered scent that makes you close your eyes and let your mind wander. Pear flavors, a hint of roasted hazelnuts, a touch of lemon zest combine to create a magical scent for me. I could smell my glass over and over again, wouldn't move the glass away from my olfactory bulb, the wine would taste heavenly too! Clear and focused, with enormous energy, it flows silkily over the palate and ends with an outrageously juicy, salty, mineral-like finish, with a lot of creaminess so that the tongue wants to keep rubbing against the palate. This is great cinema. Sorry.
